Twenty years ago Randy was diagnosed with a progressive neurological disease and was told he’d likely be wheelchair bound within a few years. Wanting to make the best of his remaining time on two feet, Randy joined a fitness club. Within weeks, his condition improved and Randy has been a fitness fan ever since!
Years later, a chronic lower back problem led him to a fitness trainer and within a few months, Randy’s pain was completely gone. These two experiences inspired Randy to set a goal of becoming a fitness trainer one day.
Today, after 35-years of teaching organic chemistry to community college students, Randy has combined his love of teaching with his passion for fitness training and has become a certified personal trainer with ACE (American Council on Exercise).
While studying for the ACE certification exam, Randy looked at a video called “Never Leave the Playground” on the Growing Bolder website. The video features Stephen Jepson, who is a retired college professor, just like Randy. Stephen has made his backyard into an exercise playground and some of his exercises include juggling! Randy immediately began juggling and he has never stopped.
Randy believes fitness should be fun! That’s why Juggling Dog Fitness offers a popular juggling program that combines juggling and fitness.
Randy’s unique approach to fitness serves an ever-widening audience including senior centers classes, small group sessions and private lessons.
